Indoor Air Quality

Maintaining good air quality is also a main concern for Cottage Werks.  Many of the materials used in modern homes are riddled with chemicals and/or give off unnecessary particle matter into the air.

Cottage Werks generally uses hardwoods on the main floor, but carpet is often found in other areas of their homes.  The selection of 100% wool Berber carpet greatly reduces the synthetic air-borne particles and entrapment of dirt and dust.

Often Cottage Werks homes are built with the highest EPA certified wood burning stoves.  These clean burning fireplaces give off less particle matter and carbon dioxide than natural gas and provide an incredible amount of heat.

The basement and garage areas are finished, insulated and equipped with a polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) barrier to reduce carbon monoxide from entering the living areas of the home.
